Irma asks: How do I get "favorites" to open from the Start menu ?

Right Click on Start.
Left click on Properties.
On the Start Menu tab, click on Customize.
Click on Advanced tab.
In the start menu items list, put a check mark by Favorites menu.
Look around, you may find something else you want.
